Kumonga

Kumonga is a giant species of spider that naturally occurs on Solgel Island. When the Kamacuras attack Minilla, the spider’s web is disturbed, and Kumonga appears. With eight legs, a hairy body and a venomous bite, Kumonga shares the appearance and normal predatory habits of other spiders. After the creature traps its prey in its highly adhesive webbing, Kumonga advances to make the kill with its poison. When Kamacuras and Minilla are caught in Kumonga’s web the spider attacks and kills the Kamacuras. But Godzilla arrives before it can harm Minilla, and together they defeat the giant spider with heatwave blasts.

In GODZILLA FINAL WARS (2004), under the control of the Xilliens, Kumonga appears in Arizona. Later, in New Guinea, Kumonga’s rapid movements threaten Godzilla, but it is finally defeated and goes missing after Godzilla flings it into the distance. Because Kumonga is a giant spider, it is able to produce large net-like spider webs that are very difficult to escape from.
