Godzilla Made its National Lacrosse League Debut in San Diego

The San Diego Seals professional indoor lacrosse team hosted its first ever Godzilla themed game night.

Set on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, Pechanga Arena in San Diego California played host to a clash of the National Lacrosse Leagues hottest teams, the San Diego Seals and Buffalo Bandits. With the top two teams in the league meeting in a possible championship preview it is only fitting that the King of the Monsters would make landfall in the San Diego bay and bring fans a monstrous themed game night for a monster-sized matchup!

Over the years, Godzilla has made special appearances at Japanese sporting events from baseball to soccer and has delighted fans. For Godzilla’s first official U.S. themed sports night, the San Diego Seals lacrosse team brought the iconic kaiju to life through new custom uniforms worn by the players during the game. The design highlights the strength and dominance of Godzilla along with its signature heat ray extending down the sleeve! During the week leading into the game fan’s were able to bid on an authentic game worn uniform from their favorite player with proceeds going to 4Ocean in support of ocean cleanup efforts.

As is tradition in the league after every home team goal, the arena is filled with their signature air horn celebration to cheer the team on. For Godzilla night the Seals showed off their best Godzilla impersonation with the iconic roar and blue smoke creating a heat ray like blast after every goal.
