GODZILLA (1984-1995)

Godzilla appeared in 1984 to resurrect the series with GODZILLA RETURNS. Thirty years after the first Godzilla, a new incarnation of the monster arrives to threaten mankind’s existence. Initially an enhanced version of the original, its look evolved in GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE (1989), with a smaller and more predatory-looking head on a sleeker and more powerful body. In subsequent films, as Godzilla faced such massive foes as King Ghidorah and Mothra, its own size increased. By the end of the Heisei series, after defeating Destroyah, Godzilla’s internal nuclear energy had become so overloaded that Godzilla finally melted down like a failed reactor and was consumed by fire.
